You will need to choose color combinations for you site.
In designing websites, we use color codes to define which colors we use.
Here are some examples:
#FFFFFF = White
#FFOOOO = Red
Colors on a website are like colors with carpet and paint. The color looks great on the sample, but once we load it to the site, it always comes up darker looking. So find colors you like and drop back a few shades lighter to see how this works.
You can browse other sites and pick up great color combinations. Remember, clean with straight color combinations is better than real busy and pretty colorful sites. People are busy and want to be able to get to what they need quick and get out. A little flare is good, but just contain it.
